The Education Alliance for Life Chances (EALC) is seeking two new Trustees to join our Board at a pivotal moment as we deliver our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan.
EALC exists to ensure that every child in Bradford can grow up with genuine, equitable life chances. We act as the backbone organisation connecting schools, health services, children’s social care, policing, and the voluntary and community sector — strengthening the systems that shape children’s education, health, safety, and long term wellbeing.
Our strategic priorities focus on:
- SYSTEMS: Expanding School Health Hubs and strengthening collaboration between health and education
- PLACE: Growing Act Locally partnerships in areas of multiple disadvantage
- SCHOOLS: Leading system‑wide improvement in inclusion and early identification of SEND through the Electronic Development Support Passport
As a Trustee, you will help steward this mission, ensuring strong governance, sustainability, and disciplined implementation.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking individuals who bring prior experience of charity trusteeship or governance, alongside a commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can offer one or more of the following:
- Schools and Local Authority expertise — particularly senior leadership, SEND, safeguarding, inclusion, commissioning, or system‑level improvement
- Fundraising or income generation experience — particularly strategic fundraising, bid development, or philanthropic partnerships
- Legal expertise — charity law, governance, contracts, safeguarding, or regulatory compliance
- Human Resources expertise — workforce development, organisational culture, or people management
- A strong connection to the Bradford District — whether through lived experience, professional networks, or community leadership
We welcome applicants from all sectors, including education, health, voluntary and community organisations, business, and public services.
You do not need to have been a trustee before if you have equivalent governance experience — we will provide a full induction and ongoing support.
