MESMAC is recruiting three part-time Peer Support Workers to join our Mental Health Team, delivering community-driven support for LGBTQIA+ people across Yorkshire. This is a meaningful opportunity to use your own lived experience to support others, working within a values-led organisation that puts LGBTQIA+ communities at the heart of everything it does.

You’ll be part of a dedicated team working to reduce isolation, build resilience, and provide accessible mental health support to people who need it most.

Role Description

Job Details
You will play a central role in delivering peer support for LGBTQIA+ people experiencing or at risk of poor mental health. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering peer support groups for LGBTQIA+ communities across Yorkshire
  • Offering short-term, one-to-one peer support to individuals experiencing or at risk of poor mental health
  • Working collaboratively as part of the wider Mental Health Team to provide joined-up, community-driven support

Contract and salary

Salary: NJC Scale 5 (points 11–17), starting at £28,598 pro rata per annum
Hours: 15 hours per week
Contract type: Fixed term until 31st March 2028
Salary is reviewed annually
5% workplace pension contribution (on completion of probationary period)
