Role Background

The Enhanced Access Support Worker plays a vital role in delivering early intervention mental health support to individuals aged 11 and above across the Bradford and Craven District. This service is designed to provide accessible, short-term, one-on-one telephone support sessions for people experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges.

Wellbeing practitioners offer tailored guidance and practical advice to help individuals improve and maintain their emotional well-being. Each session is person-centred, focusing on the unique needs of the individual, and may include signposting to longer-term services or community resources.

The role requires empathy, active listening, and the ability to build rapport quickly over the phone. Support Workers must be confident in assessing needs, providing appropriate interventions, and maintaining accurate records. They are part of a wider mental health support network and contribute to the overall goal of reducing barriers to mental health care and promoting early help within the community.
