Job Description

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Part time: 12 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)

Start time: 9:00am

Employment Start Date: 7 September 2026

Contract: 6 Month Temporary Contract

Closing Date: 5:00pm, Tuesday 18th August 2026

A specialist domestic abuse service provider is seeking a professional cleaner with integrity and attention to detail to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in our 15-bedroom women’s refuge.

Experience

  • Prior experience in commercial cleaning.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to completing tasks efficiently
  • Reliable attendance record with a positive attitude towards teamwork and customer service

A full driving licence with access to a car with business insurance is essential for the role.

Role Description

Key Responsibilities:

The role requires working across three sites; therefore, access to a car with business insurance is essential.

  • Carry out general cleaning duties across three sites (refuge, dispersed unit, and office).
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in communal areas, offices, bathrooms, residents’ bedrooms, and kitchens.
  • Provide laundry support, including washing, drying, and organising as required.
  • Ensure cleaning materials are used safely and stored securely in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages to management.
  • Work flexibly across different sites, ensuring consistency in standards of cleanliness.
  • Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, and organisational policies at all times.
  • Report any maintenance, health, or safety concerns promptly to the relevant manager.
