Mental Health Intervention Facilitator

About the role

This role focuses on working with individuals from diverse communities who have experienced domestic abuse and are living with mental health challenges, ensuring support is culturally sensitive, accessible and meaningful.

Whilst group work delivery is a key part of the role, there is also significant scope to be creative and innovative in how support is offered. The successful candidate will develop and facilitate interventions that reflect the needs, strengths and experiences of the communities we work alongside.

The role also involves planning and attending community events, building relationships with local organisations and community groups, and working closely with a wide range of partners across the district. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys partnership working and wants to help shape and deliver culturally responsive interventions that make a real difference.

Working as part of a small but passionate team, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop new approaches and help strengthen support pathways for survivors from ethnically and culturally diverse communities.

The position is 30 hours per week, over 4 days. The current contract is funded until 31st March 2027, with the possibility of extension subject to funding. Actual salary is £22,043 – £22,988 per annum depending on qualifications.

About you

We are looking for someone who has experience of providing support to people affected by domestic abuse and/or mental health challenges. You will have worked in a trauma-informed way and be familiar with mental health interventions and have experience of developing and delivering group work programs, training or community-based initiatives.

Our ideal candidate will have strong partnership-working skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with voluntary and statutory organisations. We are looking for someone with strong advocacy skills, who works by considering the clients needs with a holistic approach. Excellent communication skills and an empathic and non-judgemental approach are essential.

You will be able to work with initiative, have a high level of self-motivation with a “can-do” attitude but who can recognise, work with and develop their strengths within a team.
