We’re looking for a passionate and committed Male Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to join our Community Services Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by providing high-quality, trauma-informed support to men and boys affected by domestic abuse, helping them to improve their safety, reduce risk, and recover from the impact of abuse.
You’ll work alongside a range of partner agencies to deliver person-centered advocacy, promote resilience, and ensure the voices of those you support remain at the heart of all decision making. Role Description
About the role
Within our Early Intervention and Prevention team, the role of Male IDVA is to support boys, young men and adult male survivors affected by domestic abuse by providing tailored support with the aim to improve safety, reduce risk and improve outcomes. We are looking for someonw who can empower male victims and survivors to mke informed choices, build resilience and access the support they need.
The role involves working directly with male adult survivors, children and young people to safeguard wellbeing, co-ordinate holistic packages of support and ensure that the voice of individuals are central to safety planning, decision-making and multi-agency responses.
As well as direct advocacy and safeguarding, the role will also contribute to EIP interventions, including preventative support, outreach and community-based activities.
Part-time, 15 hours per week, over 2 or 3 days Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. £27,554 – £28,735 per annum, depending on qualifications.

About you
Our ideal candidate will have experience of working with young people and/or adults affected by trauma, domestic abuse or related harm. We are looking for someone who can build trust with boys and young men in a safe, respectful and age-approriate way and work confidently with partner agencies.
Our ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries, and be empathic and non-judgemental in their approach. As well as bringing a strengths-based, inclusive approach, we need someone who can respond to crisis situations within a fast-paced service and make effective and safe decisions.
We are looking for candidates who are able to work with initiative, have a high level of self motivation with a “can-do” attitude but who can recognise, work with and develop the strengths within a team.
