Baildon Town Council is seeking an enthusiastic and community-focused individual to join our team as a Community Engagement Officer. This exciting fixed-term role has been created to support the redevelopment of the exhibition at Bracken Hall Countryside Centre, creating a new exhibition exploring the natural and cultural heritage of Shipley Glen and Baildon Moor within the Bradford Pennine Gateway National Nature Reserve. The project is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about community engagement, heritage, education, and the natural environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring local people help shape a new exhibition that celebrates the area’s rich heritage and encourages stronger connections with nature.
Role Description
About the Role
Working closely with the Bracken Hall Manager, you will design and deliver an engaging programme of community consultation and participation activities, bringing together residents, volunteers, schools, community groups, and partner organisations.
You will coordinate focus groups, workshops, volunteer recruitment and training, and contribute to project communications, helping to ensure the exhibition reflects the voices and experiences of the local community.
You will also support the planning of a launch event for the new exhibition and assist with evaluation activities to demonstrate the impact of the project.
