Project Manager

Responsibilities:

• Management Committee: To be responsible to and supported by the Management Committee. To work closely with and support the Management Committee in the overall management of the project and to further the aims of the project.
• To be responsible for the day to day management of the project which includes the line management staff.
• Co-working: to work closely with the Centre Coordinator and other officers- in-charge of the services provided in the centre in a flexible way to the maximum benefits of users, volunteers and paid staff.
• To support the management Committee in their responsibility for assessment and support of workers, both paid and unpaid.
• In consultation with the management committee, to be responsible for receiving and dealing with complaints and grievances.
• Teamwork: To supervise and support workers, both paid and unpaid as part of a democratic team.
• Individual Responsibility: To manage own workload.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience of development work in a community setting.
• Experience of managing a project.
• Experience of supervising staff
• Experience of liaising with other agencies
• Substantial experience of negotiating funding, writing funding applications and all other aspects of fundraising.

Qualifications:

• Good level numeracy/ literacy skills. To be able to write reports and complete funding applications.
• Degree in Management.
• 3 years substantial management experience.

• A working knowledge of both voluntary sector and the local authority.
• Extensive interpersonal skills.
• Good communication skills
• Skills in group work, leadership through supervisory skills.
• Able to support staff through periods of change.
• Good organisational ability.
• Ability to establish, communicate and maintain anti-racist , and anti-sexist practice.
• Ability to establish and maintain systems of communications and management.
• Knowledge of different cultures and modes of life.
